The incident happened months after his wife Tanty Yohaida Samad issued a protection order against him, which makes many scratches their head thinking “the wife filed for a protection order against him but went to steal voucher with him”.

In October 2020, Zulkeflei and his wife Tanty used clothes hangers to steal the vouchers from letter boxes or he would use a plier to break open the letter box. The vouchers were meant for low-income families and a total of 72 people were victims of the crime.

The duo would later use the vouchers to make purchases at various supermarkets and even bought two mobile phone and a laptop.

Court documents did not indicate why the 45-year-old wife applied for the protection order and later committed the crime with him.

The order was issued against him after he attacked his 21-year-old son.

Earlier today 42-year-old Zulkeflei Mohamed Yatim was sentenced to 1 year 7 months jail for 16 charges of theft and voluntarily hurt.
