A video emerged online showing a man jaywalking slowly across a road just as a car was driving towards him.
The incident happened on 23 May at about 5.14pm, somewhere along Upper Thomson Road and the incident was captured on the car’s dashcam.
The man was seen jaywalking slowly across the road, and the visibly frustrated driver could be heard in the video calling him out for him.
The driver was heard in the video asking the jaywalking man, “what’s wrong with you ah?” to which the man then turned around to reply something unintelligible.
The rear dashcam of the car showed the man turning around to stare at the driver begrudgingly as the driver drove off.
Potential penalties
Persons caught jaywalking can be fined $50 on the spot. They can also be charged and fined up to $1,000, or jailed up to three months. Repeat offenders may be fined up to $2,000 or jailed up to six months.
