Marcos Kitano Matsunaga, a wealthy top executive at the Yoki food corporation, was fatally shot inside his upscale São Paulo apartment. The perpetrator, Elize Araújo Kitano Matsunaga, confessed to the killing, revealing a narrative of marital betrayal that has gripped the nation.
The Fatal Confrontation
According to police reports, Marcos Matsunaga had previously left his first wife and children to marry Elize, whom he met through a luxury escort service. The marriage unraveled when Elize discovered that her husband was being unfaithful with other escorts.
A heated argument erupted in their home, culminating in the fatal shooting of the executive. Following the incident, efforts were made to conceal the crime by disposing of the remains in various locations outside the city.
Investigation and Confession
The case began as a missing person investigation after initial claims suggested the executive had vanished voluntarily. However, security footage and the subsequent discovery of remains turned the focus of the investigation toward his spouse.
