MAN LEFT JOB BECAUSE ‘UNAPPRECIATED’ BY BOSS, IMMEDIATELY GETS HEADHUNTED

I think it is safe to say that no one likes to be taken for granted. This was exactly the case for me when I left my job because my boss simply did not appreciate my contributions.

For the past 4 years, I had worked with my boss at a well-known multinational corporation. I was responsible for completing a variety of tasks, from customer service to handling projects. I was always one of the top performers and had always received positive feedback from my clients, colleagues and superiors.

However, in the last year, things started to change. My boss began to take my contributions for granted. He started to expect more from me and rarely gave recognition for my hard work. I felt I was being taken advantage of, and my enthusiasm for the job began to dwindle.

On top of that, I never had any increment over the years but only had an increased workload.

I decided to take a stand and told my boss that I was leaving the job. He was shocked and didn’t believe that I was serious. Once I handed in my resignation letter, he finally realized that I was serious.

He did not even try to keep me and allowed me to leave.

This left me feeling a little upset but I knew that I had to embrace whatever that will come my way even though the future was currently bleak.

Little did I know, this decision to leave my job immediately garnered the attention of various other companies. Within a few weeks, I had been headhunted by several other companies. It was a pleasant surprise that my contributions and skills were immediately recognized and appreciated by other organizations.

I accepted an offer from one of the companies and am now happily working in my new role. I am now surrounded by a team of supportive and encouraging colleagues who genuinely appreciate my contributions and value my ideas.

I am glad that I took the initiative and left my old job. It was a difficult decision at the time, but it was the right one in the end.

I am thankful to be in a new job where I am surrounded by people who recognize and appreciate my hard work.
