MAN LOITERING SUSPICIOUSLY OUTSIDE RESTAURANT, THEN STEALS UMBRELLA

A man was caught on CCTV loitering outside a restaurant suspiciously for more than a minute before stealing a customer’s umbrella that was left outside.

The restaurant, Tasty Court, posted a video of the incident on Facebook.

The incident happened on 10 December at around 3.14pm.

The man in the video was dressed in a white shirt, white shorts and a blue hat; and he was seen staring at the blue umbrella that was placed outside the restaurant.

The man then walks past the entrance as he surveyed his surroundings, he also looked at the signboard and door before looking around him again.

He then takes the umbrella and opens it before walking away with it.

Reported to the police

Tasty Court then posted an update to the incident, saying that a police report had been made.

The umbrella had belonged to a regular customer of theirs who came for lunch at about 1pm and requested to leave it outside as it had been raining.

The customer then left after lunch but forgot to take their umbrella with them, and they called the restaurant to ask them to help keep it for the time being.

The restaurant then went to check and found the umbrella missing.
