“I don’t know how come there is such a person around. He parked his bike at the position where he is not supposed to.

I know that I am at fault when I hit the box compartment of his bike while reversing my car and his bike toppled, which resulted in some minor scratches. So wanting to resolve the issue and apologise to the owner of the bike, I and my son of 7 years old waited for him to return. Immediately when he is back, I confessed to him on what had happened and apologised to him. He started scolding, but understanding that he may not feel good about the incident, I asked nicely to settle the issue, so we identified the damages which is mainly scratches on the exhaust pipe. He suggested to change the whole exhaust pipe and mentioned that the internal like engine could also have been damaged. It came across to me that the toppling of the bike will result in an overhaul. There were also other people around and also advise that there is no need to change the whole exhaust pipe as it wasn’t serious.

So after some time he finally asked for $100 as compensation to the bike which we readily agreed to give him.

I am a driver myself and I had also encountered several incidents that I am at no fault, and I had always been forgiving and never tried to make it a big issue. Accident do happen, and we cannot undo it, so instead of making things difficult, why not just make it simple for all parties.”
