A 20-year-old man is facing four charges for sexual assault, molest and other charges.
On 7 November 2020, the 20-year-old defendant was out drinking with 3 friends. One of the friends is a 23-year-old. The incident happened at Clark Quay and they chatted till the next morning.
The 23-year-old got drunk and the defendant brought him home to sexually assault him and even leaving a “love-bite” (Hickey) on him.
Earlier today the lawyer representing the defendant pointed out that the defendant was still young and required the prosecution to report whether the youth can be sentenced to the rehabilitation centre under probation surveillance.
He will be receiving his sentence on August 12.
If he is convicted of sexual assault he will face jail and a rotan sentence.
