MAN ON WHEELCHAIR ASK FOR HELP ON MRT, LOCAL MAN IGNORES HIM, END UP FT HELP HIM

A netizen posted on Facebook stating that he is a person with disability (PWD), relying on his wheelchair for mobility. As he was getting on the train, his wheelchair got stuck in the gap between the train and the platform. He asked the uncle who was standing nearby if he could help him, but the uncle simply ignored him.

Here is what the man wrote:

I am a PWD on wheelchair as I was getting on the train my wheelchair got stuck in between the train gap I ask this uncle who was standing at the time if he can help me, he simply ignore. In the end a foreign Indian man help me what is wrong with our own Citizen?

In the end, a foreign Indian man who was also getting onto the train noticed the man’s plight and came to his aid. He helped to manoeuvre the wheelchair into the train compartment. The man was grateful for the help and thanked the man profusely.

This incident made the man reflect on the current state of society. He found it unacceptable that a foreign national had to step in to provide help when his own people showed no intention to do so.

This experience was a reminder of why it is important to treat those with disabilities with respect and empathy.

Here are what netizens think:

  • don’t want to help you cannot meh, you damn big shot! Nobody owns others a living, helping is not a must if people see your sour face like that
  • Must see two sides of story. Could he be rude in asking for help? The uncle also has right to say NO no law says he cannot.
  • I think you are just unlucky on that day. Generally everyone will help without hesitation under that situation. Cheer up bro!!
  • As not to label, sometimes uncle may has other physical health conditions which he can’t help…And he need not has to tell the whole world….!
  • When people don’t want to help you, you shame them online
