In the quaint gardens of Johor Bahru, a peculiar incident unfolded, adding a new chapter to the annals of wedding lore. A middle-aged Chinese man, seemingly dressed for the occasion, not only attempted to freeload at a wedding but boldly ventured into another celebration after being ousted from the first.
An audacious attempt to freeload
According to China Press, a middle-aged man pretended to be a wedding guest and gatecrashed a stranger’s wedding to eat for free, before being discovered and kicked out.
However, after being kicked out, he then gatecrashed another wedding to resume his freeloading off another couple’s celebrations.
The host of the wedding, known as “肥猫” (translated to Fat Cat), 35 years old, took to Facebook to recount his bewilderment as he discovered an unfamiliar face in the crowd during a wedding he was emceeing.
Imposter
The gatecrasher, impeccably dressed, approached the newlyweds with well wishes before taking an audacious step forward – engaging the live singer in conversation.
After learning the singer’s name, the uninvited guest claimed to be a vocalist himself and sought employment. Upon rejection, he pivoted to a deceptive strategy.
Facing inquiries from the bride’s friends, he brazenly asserted he was invited by the elders, earning a seat among the unsuspecting wedding party.
Unmasking the ruse, the friends discreetly verified his story with the groom’s side and promptly escorted him out, ensuring minimal disturbance.
Trespassing the Next Celebration
Undeterred, the crasher infiltrated a neighboring banquet, indulging in the feast. However, his escapade was short-lived as vigilant staff spotted and swiftly removed him.
The emcee and a wedding photographer took to social media, exposing the crasher’s identity, describing him as a balding man in his 50s with a slightly portly build.
Fat Cat added that if the man was really struggling in life, he should be seeking for help via the right avenues and not resort to shameful ways.
