The town council received multiple feedbacks that posters and hand-sanitisers in the lift were damaged on multiple occasions between March 14 to March 30, at Block 182 Bishan Street 23.

A police report was lodged on April 1 and it was revealed that Low damaged the items.

His actions were caught on the CCTV installed inside the lift.

Low claimed that he poured the hand sanitiser all over the floor because he wanted to “disinfect the lift”, he also admitted to bringing the bottles home for his personal consumption.

Low also explained that he tore down the posters in the lift because he wanted to put them up properly with his own tape but eventually “forgot”.

Low also added that he wanted to “kill as many virus as possible” because the lift was “smelly and unhygienic”.

He asked for leniency, claiming that he has a skin condition and is particular about cleanliness.

Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Tan Wee Hao left the sentence to the court, highlighting that it was insonciderate of Low to misuse public property, and he did not object to the fine.
