25-year-old Lim Jun Hong, pleaded guilty earlier today (4 February) to one count of voluntarily causing hurt (against his father), and one count of causing hurt by a rash act (against his mother).
Three other charges will be considered during his sentencing.
He had reportedly punched his father in the face because he was angry that a computer programme wasn’t working, as well as throwing things at his mother.
What happened?
In July 2020, Lim was downloading a programme on his father’s computer and apparently, the programme didn’t work, so Lim punched his father in the face because he thought that he didn’t grant him administrative access to the computer.
His 64-year-old father the moved out of the house to avoid a recurrence of the assault.
Separately, Lim also threw projectiles such as a calculator, a duct tape holder and etc, at his mother on three occasions when he was angry.
Both his parents didn’t seek any medical treatment.
According to an IMH psychiatrist, Lim was suffering from anti social personality disorder with poor impulse control.
A suitability report for mandatory treatment order was ordered by the judge; and Lim, whose bail had been extended, is expected to return to court for his sentencing at a later date.
