I can’t believe it. I just quit my job without notice after my boss threatened to fire me. It’s been a long road leading up to this point and I can’t help but feel a little relieved.
It all started when I was promoted to a higher position within the company. My boss seemed pleased with my work and I was excited to have the opportunity to advance. Things were going great for a while, but then my boss started to change. He was increasingly difficult to work with and began micromanaging me more and more.
I tried to do my best to please him, but it just seemed like nothing was good enough. He would nitpick at every little thing I did and I felt like I was walking on eggshells.
Then one day, my boss called me into his office and let me know that he was planning on firing me. He said that I wasn’t meeting his expectations and that if I didn’t improve my performance with in the next few months, he would have no choice but to let me go.
I was shocked by his words and couldn’t help but feel a wave of panic wash over me. I had worked so hard to get to this position and I didn’t want to lose it. I knew that if I were to be fired, it would be a huge blow to my career.
After the meeting, I was so upset that I couldn’t focus on my work. I was filled with stress and anxiety and was afraid to even go into work the next day.
Then, after thinking it over, I decided that I didn’t want to stay at the job and be threatened with termination all the time. I knew that if I stayed, I would be miserable and it wasn’t worth it.
So, I decided to quit without notice, I leave the office straight and my boss has been begging me to come back.
He said: “Sorry I am using the wrong approach to motivate you, you have been one of the best workers. Please come back.”
I told him as I do not like to get threatened. I don’t want to be scared and nervous all the time, but I knew it was the right decision.
I immediately started looking for a new job.
