MAN RECEIVES FAKE UOB SMS, UOB CONFIRMED THAT THIS IS A SCAM

A man received an SMS stating that a new payee has been added to his account.

The link leads to a fake UOB website that tells the man to key in his credit card information.

This is a new scam that is mimicking bank websites and trying to get credit card/debit card information. The other term to describe this is Phishing.

The scariest part is the sender in the SMS is stated as UOB.

Please take note to inform the elderly and love ones that the bank will never ask for your credit card information or ask you for money.
