Here is the story:

There are at least 3 deaths associated with the surrounding areas that I personally know of.

  1. The lady that was fatally stabbed by unknown assailants while on a date in 1989.
  2. A teenager who drowned near the lighthouse.
  3. An elderly man who hung himself at one of the nearby trees.

I attended all the 3 above cases.

My colleagues also felt uneasy when we patrol around that area especially in the hours of darkness.

Once in the middle of the night while driving along the bicycle path, there was a small tree that was uprooted and blocked our path. My In-Charge told us to get off the land rover and move the tree off the path.

While trying to carry the tree, I heard a rustling sound and something jumped from the uprooted tree to another tree. 2 of colleagues screamed. The pimples on my back stood up.

My In-Charge shouted at us to get back onto the Land Rover. He reversed the Land Rover immediately and sped off. I was the only Chinese among the 4 of us. They spoke in Malay but I can understand a bit of Malay language and I asked my In-Charge what happened.

He said while lifting the tree, they saw a pontianak jumped from the tree to a nearby tree. That caused the rustling sound that I heard.

I didn’t see the pontianak but I did felt a cold wind swept over me and a sense of fear.
