I’m sure many people have heard of the infamous “Countdown Party”. It’s a tradition for many, especially young people.
It’s a night of anticipation and celebration. The idea is to spend the whole night going from one venue to the next, celebrating the coming of the new year.
But for me, it’s a total waste of time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against celebrating the new year, I just don’t see the point of going through the hassle of a huge party.
The biggest problem with the countdown party is that it’s really expensive. You have to pay for tickets, drinks, and transportation. It also takes up a lot of time. You need to make arrangements to get to the venues, wait in line, and then get home in the early hours of the morning. All of this adds up to a huge cost and wasted time.
And what do you get out of it? Sure, you get to celebrate the new year with your friends, but really, it’s the same as hanging out with them on any other day. It’s just a huge hassle.
But the biggest problem with the countdown party is that it doesn’t really change anything. It’s just one night. The next day you wake up and it’s the same as it was before. You still have to eat and shit like any other day.
So why bother going through all the hassle? Why waste your money and time on something that doesn’t really change anything?
Got new year no new year also must eat and pang sai like any other day.
In my opinion, the best way to celebrate the new year is to have a more personal celebration. Spend time with your closest friends, have a nice dinner, and just talk. That’s it. No need to go out to a club or spend money on expensive drinks.
And let’s not forget the most important part: reflecting on the year that has passed. You can think about the good moments and the bad, and plan for the year ahead. That’s a much better way to spend the night and welcome the new year.
At the end of the day, the countdown party is just a big hassle. You spend a lot of money and time, and get nothing in return. That’s why I think it’s a waste of time.
I’m sure there are people who enjoy it, but for me, I’d rather have a more intimate celebration. That way I can really reflect on the year that has passed and look forward to the year ahead. That’s the best way to celebrate the new year.
