Today I go one massage shop in the heartlands, thought want to go in and relax my tight shoulders after one whole week of OT. The auntie inside quite friendly at first, ask me take the 60-minute oil massage. I say okay lor, $60, quite standard market rate.
But the moment I lie down on the bed, the “tune” change liao. Not even ten minutes in, she start whispering in my ear, “Bro, you want special service or not? Today I give you discount.” I think okay lah, maybe just some extra stretch or what. Then she quote me the price. $200 for ‘Happy Ending’ and $350 for the ‘Full Package’.
EH HELLO? $350?! You think your hand is made of 24K gold is it? Or you think I am some big carrot waiting for you to chop? I look at her face, look at the peeling wallpaper in the room, then I look at my wallet. For $350, I can go Marina Bay Sands have a nice buffet, stay one night, and still have change to buy 4D.
Nowadays these shops really think Singaporeans are all rich man. They open everywhere—under HDB, inside old shopping malls, behind the bus interchange—and they all use the same tactic. Low price for normal massage to bait you in, then use “Skyhigh” prices for the extra stuff. If you don’t take, their face immediately become like frozen prata, start to massage like they want to break your bones.
I tell you ah, since you all want to play like that and try to “carrot” people, don’t blame me for being “bao toh kia” (snitch). I am going to consolidate one full list of all these shops that charge ridiculous prices and post it on HardwareZone, Reddit, and even send to Mothership.
Why should we let them scam people? If you want to do illegal business, at least be honest with the pricing mah! Don’t use standard massage to camouflage and then slaughter people inside. I already take photos of the shop front and the unit number. You want to charge skyhigh? Fine, then I make sure your shop “high” until mata (police) come and visit you every day.
Anyone else kena before? Please PM me the location and the price they quote you. We need to expose all these black shops. If we don’t speak up, they will keep thinking we are easy targets. Enough is enough!
