My Chinese New Year visit is something I look forward to every year. However, it’s not for the traditional reasons you would expect.
I’m not excited about the opportunity to see my relatives, but for the chance to make a profit.
You see, I’m a passionate gambler, and Chinese New Year offers me the perfect opportunity to make some money.
To pass time at gatherings, families with elders around would often engage in a friendly few rounds of blackjack while friends from the younger generation may prefer games like Thai baccarat.
Of course, I’m aware of the risks and the potential for losses associated with gambling.
I’m not a high-roller, so I set my limits and stick to them. That way, even if I lose, I won’t be left with too much of a dent in my wallet.
I’m also a big fan of food and Chinese New Year has some of the best dishes you can find. I’m always looking forward to eating the snacks and goodies and cooked food because usually the hosts would whip up a feast.
But of course, at the heart of my Chinese New Year visit is my passion for gambling.
That is the only think I look forward to at every visitation, when the host of the gathering brings out a deck of poker cards and calls for a game.
I’m not a fan of just sitting around and entertaining my relatives and their repetitive questions every year.
There are certain visitations where I would excuse myself from as well, because I know there is no gambling there.
Gambling isn’t for everyone, but for me, it’s a great way to have fun and make some money.
Chinese New Year gives me the perfect opportunity to do both and I’m always excited to take advantage of it.
