He promised that if I invested $10K, he’d give me shares in the pub that could one day be worth much more.
I trusted him and decided to invest in the pub. He told me he was going to put the money in a safe place and he’d give me the shares as soon as the pub was up and running. I was excited about the potential of making money through the pub, so I handed over the $10K without hesitation.
A few weeks later, He told me the pub was open and he was ready to give me my shares. I was excited and couldn’t wait to start making money. But when I went to the pub, I soon realized something was wrong. The place was empty and there were no customers. When I asked him about it, he told me not to worry and that the pub would start making money soon.
Weeks went by and the pub remained empty. I started to get suspicious and decided to investigate. I soon discovered that he had been lying to me. He had taken my $10K and had never actually invested in the pub. He had simply pocketed the money and had been using my trust in him to scam me.
I was devastated and angry. I had trusted him and he had betrayed me in the worst way possible. He had scammed me out of $10K and had told me to invest in a pub, but his shares were worth nothing.
To make matters worse, I couldn’t get my money back. He had already spent it and there was no way to get it back. I had lost $10K and my trust in my best friend.
