The victim was Senior Staff Sergeant Haidil Osman.

The incident happened on 28 october, at around 8.55am along Geylang East Avenue 1.

What happened?

Another TP officer was on patrol along Upper Paya Lebar Road when he noticed the suspicious vehicle.

That officer signaled for the car to stop but the driver sped away, resulting in a chase.

Senior Staff Sergeant Haidil then joined the other officer in chasing after the perpetrator on their motorcycles when the car then stopped for a while at Geylang East Avenue 1.

The car then suddenly reversed into the officer, who fell off his bike, and the driver then sped away.

The vehicle was later discovered abandoned at Geylang East Central and a 34-year-old passenger was subsequently arrested at the scene.

A police manhunt was then underway and resulted in Ang being arrested, as well as a 22-year-old man who was allegedly the one responsible for renting the car.

The latter was also a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
