I have a nice confession to make. Which is gonna make preggies and mummies sick. But I cannot help it.
I’m in many Whatsapp mummy groups. And I’m a guy.
For those who dun know, these WA grps are where mummies talk and sing about anything under the sun, share tips, advice, encourage each other, pretend to be nice and civil to each other. And the best of all, talking about their most sensitive and private moments and body parts, some with pictures 🙂
I know I’m twisted, perverted. But I cannot help it. It is just so easy to infiltrate these groups. Get a prepaid sim card, pretend to be a mummy or preggie, and voila! The trick to be convincing is to join in the conversations. You cannot be totally silent, else the admins or some mummies will get suspicious/paranoid and kick you out. They are dumb but not that dumb.
I have 2 sim cards, and its enough to sneak me into quite a few groups and keep me entertained.
What amazes me is how much the mummies can talk everyday. Everyday I will have a few hundred, sometimes 1000+ unread msgs. Crazy. Won’t the WA servers crash? Even more amazing is the dumb and shallow stuff they talk about… every single day. Comparing kids. Sharing beauty tips. Complaining about mother in laws, office politics. Once in a while will end up arguing among themselves. Giving birth has made these women dumber and more hollow or what?
That’s not the main entertainment. The main show is when they talk about their private, juicy parts. Breastfeeding, how they get engorged and need massage, leaking. Lochia, yeast infection, cramping, incontinence.
And the yummiest part? Some come with pictures. Shiok.
Some will give added bonus like posting pictures of how they slim down.
And some will post pictures of their kids asking about this rash that rash. But I’m not interested in these.
This is better entertainment than s forums. Here you get the real stuff. Sometimes even live.
As a father myself I also know about parenting to value add to the conversations. But the ROI for my effort is…shiok.
And if you are thinking if my wife in any of these groups, no she’s not. She’s a foreigner, English is limited, so I told her no point. She can’t fit in. I don’t want her character and innocence to get polluted by the dumb things those mummies are saying everyday.
