User virs1988 recently posted on Hardwarezone forum after he went to a WSG career fair and got a shock of his life. He stated on how the interview was done Via Zoom and he could not even see the interviewer. He added that the worse part was he was told to apply for the job online if he has interest.
Here is the full story.
Well, as u all should know by now, there are so many “SG jobs” conducted at CC during this period. And since I was having an “off-day”, I plan to go to the career fair and meet interviewers to see if they can provide me with good and better job opportunities. So as usual during this covid period, I have to register on the website instead of going there physically to register.
And when the day comes, the ambassador usher me to sit on an empty chair and ask me to wait for the interviewer to come. So ok, I waited with patience. Then 10 mins later, the ambassador came to me and ask me to come over to their so-called “closed-room” because the interviewer has finally came. So I follow the ambassador to this “closed-room” and he ask me to sit in front of a laptop. So basically it’s somewhat akin to a zoom interview waddaheck? Like that might as well just do at home right duh?
And so I talk to the interviewer for 5 mins, but it’s very very very weird because I couldn’t even see the interviewer’s face on the laptop. I only can hear them talking to me. So I was like talking to a wall for 5 mins like one siao lang, and who knows, the interviewer maybe can see me from the laptop and it’s so unfair. And they probably could be lying down on their bedroom while interviewing me. This is so damnn it!
And the “best” part is, after that 5 mins of interview, they said if I am interested in the job, I have to go to their website or go to any job portal online to apply for the position. Like seriously???? If that’s the case then might as well I just apply at home and don’t go to the career fair right?
So many terrible experience just for that one day. Waiting for 10 mins only to have an interview via Zoom in a closed room instead of just zooming at home, and then talking to a wall for 5 mins without even getting to see the interviewer’s face, and then asking me to apply from website which can easily be done at home, all these are seriously damm freaking horrible. If I know this would happen, I would rather not have an “off day”.
