According to a media release, a 29-year-old was charged with multiple offences including drug-related, traffic offences and voluntarily causing hurt to others with a dangerous weapon.
Traffic Offences
In Dec 2017, the man was approached by police officers after he had fled from a roadblock. The police parked their vehicle in front of him to prevent him from escaping. Instead of cooperating, the man hit the police vehicle and sped off.
Revenge Attack
In Mar 2018, the man had organised a revenge attack on a man who had a dispute with him during a wedding function.
It was reported that the man and three others went to the victim workplace and slashed him with a parang. A week after the slashing incident, the man was again approached by police officers at a HDB void deck.
The man then quickly entered his car and fled the scene. In the process, he had hit one of the police officers and send him flying. The police officer was later sent to the hospital for treatment.
The man later abandoned his car at Bedok South and drugs were found in it. The man was finally arrested by the Central Narcotics Bureau officers in a hotel room located in Bugis.
The man is set to be sentenced later this month (Jan 2021).
