Local activist Gilbert Goh shared how she slept in the jungle during his annual 5-night homeless experience and described being kept awake by traffic noises and mosquitoes.
Here is the story
Jungle homes of our rough sleepers – please pray for them especially during the rainy season when it’s cold and wet with plenty of mozzies around.
Most shelter homes are built with cardboard and one or two stood out as quite elaborate and even artistic with proper roofing and partition.
I spent one night there during my second annual 5-night homeless experience last year and the noise of the traffic outside plus the mozzies have kept me very much awake the whole time!
Can’t really imagine how our rough sleepers can be there for months and some even years…
There are also clothes line dotting the jungle homes – oblivious to the outside world because of its obscurity and privacy.
With the impending GST increase soon, more people may be thrown out of their homes as they struggle with mortgage repayment and other livelihood issues.
Do something good for Singapore – a charity movement to alleviate the hardships of displaced elderly Singaporeans.
