MAN SNATCH GOLD CHAIN AT ALJUNIED ARRESTED BY POLICE

According to a Police media release, a snatch theft case occurred along Upper Aljunied Lane.

A 28-year-old guy has been arrested for his alleged participation in a snatch theft case.

The Police were notified of a case of snatch theft on 30 July 2021 at approximately 3.45 a.m., when an unknown guy grabbed a male victim’s gold necklace near Upper Aljunied Lane.

Officers from Tanglin Police Division confirmed the man’s identification by on-the-ground inquiries and the use of photos from CCTV and police cameras, and detained him the same day, within 12 hours of the report.

The suspect will be prosecuted with snatch theft under Section 356 of the Penal Code in court.

The penalty is a minimum of one year in jail and a maximum of seven years in prison, as well as caning.
