Another charge of not wearing a mask properly was considered as well for his punishment.

What happened?

On 10 February 2021, Tan visited a coffee shop at Block 612 Punggol Drive and tried to order some drinks without wearing a mask, the shop assistant then told him to put one on.

He then left and returned with a face mask on and approached the counter to buy drinks, offering some coins including eight pieces of 5-cent coins for his payment.

The shop assistant and the cashier told him that the coffee shop police only allows them to accept no more than 5 pieces of 5 cent coins.

Tan the pulled down his face mask and raised his voice at the workers, before spitting at them multiple times from about a metre away – some of the saliva landed on the cashier’s forehead.
