MAN STABS AND SLASHES DINER AT BEDOK RESERVOIR ROAD MR PRATA

An impatient man who could wait for his food at Mr Prata located at Block 742 Bedok Reservoir Road used a knife to stab 1 diner and slashed another.

The incident began after 46-year-old Imran Othman got impatient as his food was not served yet and he began shouting at the workers of the shop and punched a glass wall.

Two fellow diners tried to calm him down but they became his targets instead.

One of the diners started to shout vulgarities at Imran and Imran called him out of the shop to a staircase near the block.

The moment they reached the staircase, Imran pulled out a knife and stabbed the diner. The 2nd diner who tried to stop Imran got slashed instead.

Imran was eventually caught and sentenced to 3 years 5 months and two weeks jail.

46-year-old, Imran Othman was previously charged in court on 29 June 2022 for voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon.

On 24 June 2022, the Police were alerted to an alleged stabbing incident at Block 742 Bedok Reservoir Road. The victim’s wife called for assistance after the victim returned home and expressed that he was feeling dizzy.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from Police and CCTV cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on 27 June 2022. Substances believed to be controlled drugs were allegedly found in his possession during the arrest.

The man was charged in court on 29 June 2022 with voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon punishable under Section 324 of the Penal Code 1871.

The offence carries a punishment of imprisonment for a term of up to seven years, a fine, caning, or a combination of such punishments. He will also be investigated for suspected drug-related offences.
