A 27-year-old foreign worker was sentenced to 27 weeks of jail after the was found guilty for stalking a woman and touching her upper body while in the lift.
The incident was reported happened on 03 Sep 2020 at a HDB block located along Bukit Batok Street 34.
On the day of the incident, the foreign worker was said to be attracted to the woman’s beauty. He then went up to her to asked for her number but he was rejected. It was then the man decided to stalk the woman back home.
While reaching her block, the foreign worker followed the woman into the lift and asked for her number again. The woman rejected him again and then was when the man decided to touch the woman’s upper body.
The police were alerted and the man was arrested subsequently.
In his defence, his lawyer states that the man action was a rash act and he does not have any intention to harm the woman.
