The most positive investing story is that I actually started investing. Till 2019, I had no clue about investing.. I was too busy, being stressed out from my job.
Even though I have a good job, the thought of working till age 55/60 terrified me. Having to work throughout my youthful years made me feel depressed.
The pandemic gave me enough time to know about investing, and it felt like I have a new purpose in life. I realised that letting the money sit in Savings Account is a waste.
I started off with mutual funds, and invested a lot during the last 6 months. Those funds have grown considerably, and I am very eager to keep investing for the long term.
Investing makes me feel a sense of relief that everything will be alright, and that I can become financially dependent without relying on my job. I can’t get enough of investing!
I have also been dabbling in stocks. These are two of the most satisfying investments I made in the last few months :
- PVR – 11.26% returns till now – The cinema stocks have been hit hard by the pandemic. Came across PVR and Inox stocks, and realised that they were undervalued & that they’d rebound eventually. Bought 20 stocks. It’s been doing good so far.
- REC LTD – 22.37% returns till now – REC LTD has been trading at a very discounted price during the last few months. Bought it for the eventual price appreciation AND the dividend yield. It has probably the best dividend yield of any stock that I have seen. Bought 500 of it, and also received an interim dividend.
