Update: The incident has been confirmed to be part of filming for a show, as confirmed by MP Sun Xueling on Facebook
A video emerged online showing a man armed with what appears to be a samurai sword, and swinging it in the middle of the road.
The incident purportedly took place at Sumang Lane in Punggol.
The man was seen in the video swinging the sword in the middle of the road before running towards a black car that was stopped nearby.
He then laid down on the ground in front of the car, as the inhabitants of the vehicle then alighted from the vehicle to check on him.
The man then got up and raised his sword in the air, as he charged towards a woman on the passenger side of the car.
The woman then fled along with the driver of the car.
Discussions on the incident have been rife, with not much information being available – several netizens have commented and said that the video was part of filming, with the man being an actor filming a reenactment of the Buangkok slashing case.
Another netizen shared a photo of a film crew with the actors for the scene.
