I find it quite amusing that someone in Singapore still think it’s ok to take out a replica gun in public and c**k it. No matter what situation you are in, whether you are role playing or just alone with your own weird thoughts, c**king a gun in a security conscious Singapore, where guns are not an everyday item you carry, is just crazy.
The man who did do such a crazy thing was actually a cosplay enthusiast who loved to play with replica toy guns. One day in 2015, he was in that shanty town Yishun, and just decided to take out a replica handgun he was carrying to c**k it. This triggered a huge mobilisation of around 50 security and investigative officers to the scene. The man, Timothy Tan Zhi Yu, was today fined $1,000.
Police have confirmed that owning of such weapons requires a special permit, and the shop that sold the replica guns to Tan is also being investigated.
