
During the pandemic, all residents are required to wear a mask while outside of their home. Those who do not comply with the regulation will be punished under the Temporary COVID-19 Act.
According to a media release, a man started an argument with a bus captain after he was told to wear his mask properly. The incident happened on the eve of the national day (08 Aug) at 6.15 pm at a bus stop located in front of Block 245 Bishan Steet 22.
The man was reminded by the bus captain to put on his mask properly but the request was ignored. The bus captain then reported the incident to the operation control centre. After the incident was reported, the man approached the bus captain to reason with him which led to a heated argument.
The man alighted the bus after the bus captain threatened to report him to the police. Just before the man alighted, the man told the bus captain that “Believe me or not I will make you lose your rice bowl “. The man then pointed his middle finger at the bus captain and spat at the bus captain.
Police were alerted by SBS transit and CCTV footage were provided to the police to aid the investigation.
