The incident happened on 24 May 2019 at a HDB block located in the North East area of Singapore.

Apparently, the victim has a habit of drinking with his friends in his unit. When they were approached by the man’s daughter, the victim chased her away and said that it is their freedom to smoke at their own home.
Besides smoking, the victim had also sprayed Baygon into their house which triggered the incident.
During the hearing, the man told the court that he does not have any intention to hurt anyone. He just wants to make known to them that their action has affected others living at the same block.
The man was later ordered by the court to go through a counselling session on how to handle difficult neighbour.
According to the law, anyone convicted of voluntarily causing hurt to others will face a jail term up to 2 years, fined $5000 or both.
