On 29/6, a 27-year-old man who fooled more than 20 individuals into trusting that he had ZoukOut 2016 tickets and hotel apartment stays for transaction online was punished with 14 months’ imprisonment
Azmi Zanal, who had a total of 34 charges to be face, pleaded guilty to nine counts of deceitful and one charge of  taking methamphetamine or Ice.
The entire sum tangled was $4,285. He merely completed reimbursement of $100 to a 19-year-old woman.
He bluffed his victims out of the amount between $40 and $400 each last year from September to December.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Eric Hu told the court that in early September last year, Azmi formed e-mail addresses and listed several Carousell accounts with numerous user names, offering ZoukOut tickets and hotel apartment stops for sale when he had no intent to convey the merchandises.
The targets saw his online ads and took order of ZoukOut tickets from him. He didn’t provide the things after they had wired the money as bank payments to his bank account.
On Dec 9, 2016, a 19-year-old man was cheated into reimbursing $300 to Azmi for the only charge concerning a hotel stay at Le Meridien.
On Dec 13 last year, Azmi was under arrest at Genting Hotel Jurong in Town Hall Link. His urine sample from him was discovered to contain methamphetamine upon analysis
In sentencing twenty-four other charges were taken into reflection.
Azmi, whose sentence was backdated to Dec 15, could have been jailed for up to 10 years and/or fined for each charge of cheating.
The maximum punishment for drug consumption is 10 years’ jail and a $20,000 fine.
