I don’t know if I’m being mean in this situation but can I just have a second opinion please. My boyfriend and I went to eat somewhere in east yesterday and came across this hawker centre.
Just walking in only, this older lady came over and asked us really personal questions and ask us to guess her race and guess her name and she’ll give us 1mil if we get it right etc.
she asked for our names, and I gave her a nickname of mine, which my boyfriend was a bit annoyed about. I was already kind of weirded out but she just seemed like a lonely old woman so it’s fine.
She then proceeds to tell us to just sit with her and eat with her all, still I am ok. I don’t mind hearing this aunty’s life story, she seemed quite interesting. Side note, we arrived the area at 8.30pm.
She proceeds to share her life story, how she was a billionaire and lost all her money. How she was supposed to own certain companies all of that.
She claimed to have been famous, most beautiful, the most wanted woman. She also added that she did not take her meds that day. She said the hospital was using her like a Guinea pig.
Amongst many, many other things. I don’t really wanna say much but I hinted at my boyfriend that I’m damn tired and it’s been quite some time alr. It was est 10.15pm at this point. I eventually told her we need to meet my sister, and she said ok, but proceeded to talk for abt 30 more mins.
She told us to come over to her house and have a sleepover with her. We said no. She said to just visit her house, I told her I had work the day after.
She told us to give her our numbers, and I typed in my nickname. Again, my boyfriend was annoyed and told me to just put my real name.
This is quite nothing la but this made me realise that my boyfriend doesn’t have a stranger alert radar? Like am I crazy? We eventually walked this lady to her house, and my boyfriend made me come up the lift to her level, which obviously she’s gna continue encouraging us to sleepover, or come in which I absolutely did not want happening.
She proceeded to encourage us to come in, and show us around. I said no, my boyfriend told me it’s just for awhile what’s the harm. Like just accompany her awhile. We were literally in heaps of sweat, it’s 11.15pm at this point.
Ngl the house rly damn nice, but at this very moment, I realised that how crazy easy it is to coerce my boyfriend to do things. Like I truly cannot believe I went to this stranger’s house, albeit an old lady but still. Like at least give chance to get to know her better la LOL
So I’m pretty pissed, especially at my boyfriend. A small part of my heart understands he has a lot of empathy and care for this lady, but my brain was just screaming stranger danger.
I don’t know I feel like I’m overreacting but like I feel it’s common sense not to enter a stranger’s house aft like 3hrs of knowing them, claiming everyone in the world knows them, is missing out on meds and has been walking arnd since morning.
