On Sept 14 2018, Ye was attracted by a 36-year-old woman at Esplanade MRT station and he followed her up the escalator and began recording a video of the victim from behind.

The victim felt that sometimes was behind her and turned around only to saw Ye still filming her. The victim immediately shouted for help and a few passersby managed to catch him and waited for the arrival of the Police.

The Police found 217 videos of different victims and Ye admitted that he would use the videos for self pleasure.

The lawyer who was defending Ye case said that he committed this act as his wife and father passed away in 2008 and 2014 and started this act as an excuse to cope with the grief.
