A story was shared by a netizen to be beware of friends that often flaunt their wealth but want to borrow money.
Here is the story:
Hi admin, please don’t filter my story. I wanna share this story about this guy call Shawn. He is a serial scammer that pretends to be your good friend but only makes use of you.
We met a few years ago drinking at a pub, he said that he’s a rich man’s son and always flaunts money in front of others. We started hanging out every once in a while for a drink. But we have not met for years.
One day he texted me and said that he is in need of help as his business failed, When I asked what kind of business he is doing he refuses to share. He then said that he needs about $2,000 urgently to help his business turn around, I was sceptical and he took a photo of a BMW sports car and showed me claiming that if he can drive this, returning me $2k is no problem.
Take photo of any car in carpark and act got money.
Then I asked him if you’re driving this then why do you need $2k from me? I took a photo of an aeroplane from Google and told him that currently, I’m flying this, I send another spaceship claiming that the Millenium Falcon is mine.
Heavily in debt
I call a few of my friends that know him and every one of them told me to stay away from him. They said that they are victims as well and he is not a rich man’s son.
He always withdraws money with his credit card and shows it to everyone so he can show off. But the truth is he ended up being bankrupt as he did not have money to return to the bank.
One of my friends even said that he has more than 5 credit cards and he failed to pay for any of the credit cards.
That is when I realised that he always shows the money when drinking but when it comes to drinking, he always uses his credit card to pay the bills. Meaning that the cash he had he can’t even use.
My take from this is, never believe what you see on the surface. Think deeper.
