
A man got into an argument with his Vietnamese wife who had sent money back to Vietnam instead of saving the money. He tried to carry his wife and push her out of the window.
His 5-year-old daughter who witness what her father was trying to do ran for the neighbours to get help.
11 December 2019, the 48-year-old taxi driver pleaded guilty in court after admitting to using criminal force on his wife. Due to a gag order to protect the identity of the 5-year-old, none of those involved in this incident can be named.
The incident happened on the 22 of May at around 8 am. After finding out that his wife had used the money to send back to her homeland instead of saving it he got furious and started an argument with his wife. He wanted to use the money to buy a home in Singapore.
The wife was brushing her teeth when the argument began, he grabbed his wife and tried to throw her out of the windows while saying “go and die”. She then falls to the Kitchen floor.
The man tried to lift her up again but failed to do so as she grabs hold on to a washing machine. The man tried to carry her again for the third time by holding on to her waist. Her daughter who witnesses the incident ran for her neighbours, the girl knocked on her neighbour’s door seeking help.
Three neighbours went to provide assistance and the Police were alerted leading to the man’s arrest. According to a media release, the man will be back in court on the 9 Jan 2020 for his sentencing.
For using criminal force, he can be jailed for up to three months and/or fined up to S$1,500
