Leow Wei Liang, 37-years-old, the man who is allegedly behind the cat slashings in Ang Mo Kio, was charged earlier today (9 June) with animal cruelty.
During his mention in court, which was conducted remotely, Leow refused to appear in the camera frame.
He was heard wailing on the ground as officers tried to get him to stand up.
District Judge Marvin Bay, however, noted that he was present despite his antics.
Leow was heard begging to be released and saying that he didn’t want to go to jail.
The prosecution asked for Leow to be remanded at IMH for 2 weeks, to which the judge agreed, citing his court behaviour as a valid reason.
Leow is due to return to court on 23 June for a further mention of his case.
