The 37-year-old American was diagnosed with Schizophrenia after being arrested and issued a stern warning for the bomb threat that he made on the SQ33 flight.

Andy had been in remand for more than a month and was deported back to the USA on 5 November.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Lim Ying Min said that Andy had consumed a chocolate bar that was infused with cannabis.

While on the flight to Singapore, Andy apparently heard a voice in his head telling him that there was a bomb on the flight and telling him to shout and alert the other passengers.

he then shouted that there was a bomb on the plane, twice.

Andy claimed that he saw a white light in one of the overhead compartments and heard the voice in his head telling him that the bomb was inside a bag that was in the overhead compartment.

he then got out of his seat and took out a bag that belonged to a Malaysian man that was about 4 rows in front from the overhead compartment.

Another American passenger who was on the flight, heard the commotion and informed the cabin crew, and a steward then asked Andy to clarify his bomb claims.

Andy then told the air steward that he had a vision about the bomb and pointed to the Malaysian man’s bag that he took from the overhead compartment.

The bag was then checked and they only found food inside, before returning it to the Malaysian man after ascertaining that there was no bomb inside.

Andy then told the steward to check all the bags, and the latter then told him to return to his seat while he handled the situation.

Andy then dashed towards another overhead compartment and took out another bag, before the steward and another colleague escorted him to the galley at the back of the plane, where they held his arms and tried to calm the man down.

Andy then slapped him in the face, and the two then held on to him to prevent him from hitting anyone else.

He was then restrained using straps and the seats that were nearest to him were then vacated, and he was then monitored closely for the rest of the flight, where he then became complaint.

The police were then alerted to the bomb threat and the RSAF was then deployed to escort the plane to the Changi Airport.
