A man was seen in a viral video circulating online pretending to be knocked down by a car after dashing out onto the road and lying on the ground, catching the speechless driver by surprise.
The Singapore Police Force has since said that the 29-year-old man has been identified and police investigations are ongoing.
According to the police’s news release, the incident happened on 26 September and the dashcam footage of the incident was shared on 28 September by a netizen who wasn’t the driver of the car.
The police said that the woman who was driving the vehicle along Serangoon North Avenue 5, had encountered the man who dashed out onto the road in front of her car, before dramatically falling in front of the vehicle despite there being no contact at all.
The man didn’t suffer any injuries or asked the woman for money, before walking away from the scene, according to the police’s preliminary investigations.
The man was later identified by officers from the Ang Mo Kio police division, and is being investigated for his suspected involvement in a case of rash act.
Upon conviction, the man faces a jail term of up to 6 months and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
