A former NUS graduate shared a story about himself on NUS Whisper Facebook group voicing his thoughts of being judged as an unemployed.
He hates it when others keep asking him to find a job while he is already earning millions from his passive income monthly. He then asked for advice if he should reveal his net worth to others to stop them from looking down on him.
Here His Story:
“I graduated from NUS recently and am in my late 20s. I’m unemployed and people always seem to judge me for it. Everyone’s asking me to get a job (“so old already, why still no job”), but I don’t want to because I think I won’t be enjoying my time working while waiting for a monthly paycheck, after hearing about all the office politics and Monday blues and stress etc.
However I have a secret, I am actually earning 30-60k a day almost every other day from passive income sources I established. So I spend most of the time doing nothing or doing fun things with my life. Just in the past crazy month alone, I made a million dollars (I’m not even kidding).
Should I tell others about my true net worth so that they’ll stop looking down on me and bothering me with the job questions/advice? It’s really annoying. But the thing is, I’m afraid it makes people jealous / unhappy that I earn their entire annual salary doing nothing, and that it might invite a sudden influx of borrow or help requests from “long lost friends”. I know this might sound like a troll post, but I’m legit.”
