MAN’S SINGPOST PARCEL STATED DELIVERED BUT NOTHING AT HIS DOOR, NO PROOF OF DELIVERY ALSO

Singpost states “delivered”, but…

Have a Speedpost Priority package (registered, with tracking) coming from Japan, processed on Mon, and “out for delivery” yesterday.

Near midnight, I see the status got updated to “delivered”. I was wondering if Speedpost really deliver so late into the night.

No surprises, I didn’t see anything at my doorstep or in the riser. Still not received as of this moment.

I called Singpost CS to enquire, and of course they gave me the same status update that I can check myself on the tracking site, and that they’d investigate then get back to me soon.

Asked for proof-of-delivery, was told that only the sender can request for it.

Right now I’m conflicted as to what to do, as the package is quite valuable. I will check with my neighbour down the block from me as their unit num is the same as my block, and my unit is very similar (1 digit repeat).

Sometimes couriers might mistake between the two. But I’ve no way to check if I don’t have proof-of-delivery yet.

In the meantime, has anyone experienced something like this before with their registered overseas parcel handled by Singpost?

In the end, did they deliver the package a few days or a week later, or did you have to hound Singpost, make police report?

I am contemplating making a police report if my neighbour claims to not have it and yet it still hasn’t arrive next week.

I do have a feeling the courier either marked it as “delivered” then proceed to do so another time. But the package value compels me to enquire earlier as it is not just a $10-20 item.

P.S. My main door was open and I was at the living room at that point in time. I have not noticed anyone knocking at the door or calling for my attention.

In fact, there was no human activity outside, so I’m quite sure no one came by, let alone “delivered” my package.

Update: Neighbour claims to not have receive anything. Can only just take their word for it for now.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Try waiting, sometimes they mark delivered but deliver next day to avoid getting penalized I think.
  2. (OP) Today is supposed to be that “next day”, which is why I’m concerned. I understand they may do that (have experienced before) to prevent penalty. But for that scenario, it was indeed delivered the next day. This time there’s no sight or sound, and I have yet to be reached by the sender with Singpost’s proof.
I can wait a week, but may have to resort to making a police report past that period.
