Numerous social media services were down globally yesterday; with Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and most notably, Whatsapp being down.

Many netizens took to other social media platforms to check if others were expereinceing the same downtime as them.
I myself went on Telegram and Twitter to check if it was just me.
Earlier today, Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook, which owns both Instagram and Whatsapp, posted an apology on his Facebook account.
