A woman from Johor Bahru has gone viral online after alleging that a man from Kuala Lumpur not only cheated her of more than RM3,000 but also left her pregnant—and then vanished without a trace.
According to her now-deactivated Facebook post, the woman met the man—referred to only as Mr X—on a Chinese social media platform known as RedNote. Their casual chats eventually led to a closer relationship, with the woman seeking help to find a place to rent in KL. She told Mr X that she wanted to relocate to the capital to start afresh and “avoid some matters” in her personal life.
Mr X claimed to have connections with a property agent and offered to help her secure a rental unit. However, he requested an upfront payment of RM3,000. The woman hesitated but was later convinced when he claimed to have advanced the sum himself using his car loan instalment, asking her to repay him within four days.
She Sold Her iPhone 15 Pro Max to Repay Him

Still unsure about the situation, she asked, “What if I can’t pay you back?” Mr X allegedly suggested selling her belongings to repay him. With limited assets, she sold her recently purchased iPhone 15 Pro Max to settle the supposed debt.
She then revealed that during a heated argument with her husband, she left home and agreed to meet Mr X, who was returning from Singapore. That encounter marked their first physical meeting after multiple video calls—and things escalated quickly. They engaged in unprotected sex, after which the woman asked if he was serious about their relationship, especially given her marital status. His reply: “Everything felt right.”
From Sweet Talk to Silence—Then a Positive Pregnancy Test
Days later, when she followed up about the KL rental unit, Mr X allegedly dodged her questions and blamed a non-responsive “property agent friend.” He also failed to return her money as promised. Then came the shocking twist: her period was late, and a pregnancy test turned out positive.
Initially, Mr X gave mixed responses. He first said he would take responsibility, but later changed his stance and asked her to terminate the pregnancy. Eventually, he blocked her entirely on all platforms.
In a desperate bid to track him down, the woman posted his vehicle details, identity card number, and a photo of his Honda Civic on Facebook, hoping the viral exposure would help. However, her Facebook account has since been deactivated.

High-CPM keywords like online dating scams, fraudulent romance cases, and financial deception in relationships are relevant here, as this incident highlights how emotional manipulation can intertwine with financial exploitation.
Authorities have not commented on the matter, and it remains to be seen whether any legal action will follow. Meanwhile, the woman’s post continues to circulate in online communities, sparking discussions about trust, betrayal, and the dangers of virtual connections turned physical.
