An 18-year-old and a 21-year-old man will be charged in court on 17 November with voluntarily causing hurt by a dangerous weapon following an attack on a 37-year-old man.
What happened?
The police were alerted to an assault that took place along Depot Road on 14 November at around 9.35 pm, with witnesses saying that they saw 2 men wielding long knives and attacking the victim.
The victim suffered multiple cuts and stab wounds on his neck, head, knee, and chest.
The man was bleeding profusely and was subsequently conveyed to the hospital with multiple injuries.
The assailants had fled the scene and thrown away their weapons prior to the police’s arrival.
The police recovered a 30cm long knife that was used in the attack from the vegetation near the scene of the attack.
Cut their electronic tagging
Police investigations revealed that both men had cut off their electronic tagging to avoid being tracked and they had just been released from RTC.
The duo are also suspected of being secret societies members.
A police manhunt was then on for the two men after establishing their identities and they were arrested less than a day after the attack, at a hotel in Sentosa.
