Shin Min Daily News reported that the management of Parc Somme condominium caught the theft on their CCTV cameras on 30 April at about 6pm.

A spokesperson for the condo’s management, Ms Chen, told SMDN that she was performing her routine checks on the CCTV at about 7.30pm that day when she noticed the two men behaving suspiciously.

She said that the two men appeared to be looking for something on the ground before one of them pointed to the flower pots and alerted the other guy.

They then left the area for a brief moment before coming back and taking the bricks away from the flower pots.

The first man was seen in the CCTV footage uploaded to YouTube walking towards the flower pots with two bricks in hand, comparing the sizes with the ones under the pots.

He then put one of the bricks that he brought with him under the pot before taking another brick from another pot, and the two men then walked away with 4 bricks in the end.

Ms Chen added that she recognised the two men as workers from a restaurant nearby and she then went over to confront them.

However, they refuted her claims and asked her if she was a resident staying at the condominium.

Chen also said that after lodging a report to the police, the two men then returned the bricks to the condominium.

The Singapore Police Force also confirmed that they are investigating the incident after receiving a report.

The owner of the restaurant where the two men allegedly work at, told SMDN that she had recently opened her restaurant for business and got a new fridge, but it was perched too low and her staff then went to look for bricks to hold the fridge up.

She said that they told her that the bricks were found by the side of the road and didn’t belong to anyone, and when the police came, the two then immediately put the bricks back to where they had found them.
