The 51-year-old driver was trapped in his seat due to his vehicle turning onto its side upon crashing into the elevator doors, he sustained injuries to his head.

The driver was rescued by the SCDF and conveyed unconscious to NUH.

The lift at the mall was specially made for cars, with the mall’s parking system using a mechanised process for parking.

The driver stopped his car in front of the lift and pressed the button, but when the lift was still on the way down, the driver may have accidentally stepped on the gas pedal by mistake as he was parking, causing the vehicle to move forward and crashing into the door, partially falling into the lift shaft, trapping the driver inside.
