A metal strip from a railing had apparently broken off the base of a railing and fell onto a woman’s head on the escalator at City Square mall on Monday.
The incident happened at around 8pm, according to a witness to spoke to Mothership.
The witness told Mothership that the woman was heading down the escalator at the time from the 4th floor to the 3rd floor before she was hit.
After the metal strip hit her and bounced off her head, she shouted in pain and started crying from shock, as the metal strip clanged upon landing on the escalator.
She was then seen staggering and holding her head, as the witness then went to get ice and a chair for the woman from a nearby restaurant, Watami Japanese Dining.
Another witness called for an ambulance, as a bump appeared on the woman’s forehead; and she also said that she had blacked out for a moment.
