He responded to a question from Worker’s Party MP Leon Perera in a written reply:

Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan wrote “There is no evidence of shortcomings or lapses in regulatory oversight by LTA or MOT staff.”

He also mentioned that the anti-flooding pumps are not considered high-risk components as compared to the railway systems. He also mentioned diligent maintenance is still required.
