According to eNanyang, Ooi said that according to his informant, Chia is being held captive in Myanmar, with the kidnappers determining that she is a “cash cow” that can be exchanged for ransom and is being locked up in a dormitory.

He alleged that Chia was “offered” by her captors to “sell herself,” with the group possibly receiving offers from other illegal groups to “buy” the girl from them.

Seemingly addressing an internet celebrity offering a huge sum of money to help find the girl. Ooi said that the situation has been made complicated by it.

He said that it is very simple to save her but with the amount of money being offered to redeem her freedom, things have become complicated.
